Auditions for local and regional singers interested in joining the Knoxville Opera Chorus or participating our community programs will take place in Summer 2026.

What programs does this audition cover?
Our auditions cover consideration for inclusion in the Knoxville Opera Chorus and performance opportunities for community engagement programs, like our Young Audiences school tours and the Rossini Festival.
While we are not focused on casting for our Mainstage roles at these auditions, outstanding performers may be considered for future placement.
Can I audition for the Children’s Choir, Gospel Choir, or Military Chorus at this audition?
No, we host separate auditions for those programs. Sign-up for our emails or follow us on social media to be the first to hear about new audition opportunities.
What do I need to prepare?
Please prepare two songs to perform from memory. These can be arias, art song, musical theatre, or sacred solos. One should be in English, and the other may be in any language.
Is a pianist provided?
Yes — we will have a pianist on-site to accompany your vocals.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring printed sheet music. You are also welcome to bring a resume and headshot, but feel free to save paper by uploading these items directly to your application form.
How long will the audition take?
Each audition lasts for 5-8 minutes, allowing ample time to perform two pieces of music.
